Hormone Balance
BALANCE-the Key to Health
Hormones are our body's number one communicator of messages sent between cells. They travel through the blood stream entering the cell by means of a lock and key type arrangement called a receptor site. Once inside the cell the hormone gets to work organizing and flipping switches to regulate physical and mental functions needed throughout our lifetime.
Hormones work in harmony with each other much like an orchestra, each entering the symphony at the correct time to create a balanced life force. If balance is lost the symphony loses the smooth fluid force and causes the body to become symptomatic, such as the "hot flashes" related to menopause or weight gain with thyroid syndromes.
Saliva testing has been used to measure imbalances in the body since the 1980's. In 2004 the USDA approved the use of saliva testing and as we know, saliva holds a complete imprint of our DNA.
Saliva testing done through ZRT laboratory provides a convenient, in home, non-invasive approach to accurately measure woman's hormone levels. This manner of testing allows your provider to identify hormone imbalances early before symptoms appear, to identify specific hormone imbalances in relation to symptoms, to establish baselines and monitor hormone levels.
A key to hormone balance is the knowledge that our hormones work best when we practice healthy lifestyle choices. A balanced diet, exercise, stress management, smoking cessation, adequate sleep and plenty of laughter will help achieve a healthy mind and body.
